Abstract

This work aims to present the development of the Support Center for People with Specific Needs (NAPNE) at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of the South of Minas (IFSULDEMINAS), Pouso Alegre campus. The article analyzes an intervention to improve educational and social skills of L.R.N.S. and J.R.M., students with specific needs.Through intensive tutoring, both improved their social interactions and emotional skills.The importance of NAPNE and an individualized approach to promote inclusion and academic advancement is highlighted, in addition to discussing educational policies that ensure effective inclusion.The tutorials conducted showed initial challenges and the progress achieved.The personalization of the tutorials was fundamental for the students' learning process. We also discussed how the NAPNE approach, by adopting an individualized service focused on the needs of each student, enables the academic and social advancement of these students.The article highlights the relevance of inclusive educational policies to ensure equal opportunities.
