Abstract

The study was carried out from a research with the objective of locating what are the elements of innovation in the grain producing farms of the region of Chapada do Rio Pratudão, in the west of Bahia, Brazil. The research took place through an interview with a rural producer, experienced for almost three decades and acting on behalf of rural producers in the studied region, as well as in reports published by representative entities of the local agribusiness. It was noticed that grain producers are concerned about meeting market requirements, which are increasingly competitive, leading farms in the region to look for innovations in different ways, making it possible to locate those in terms of product type, process, marketing and organizational. Innovation in management stands out in search of cooperation, with the possibility of forming networks.
