Abstract

This article presents reports from the Technical Integrated High School courses at IFSULDEMINAS - Campus Três Corações students, based on their experiences on musical projects offered by the campus within the scope of Teaching, Research and Extension, with a special focus on PwD students. Through qualitative methodology, specifically participant observation, it was possible to collect information about the relevance of musical education and practice in high school, paying particular attention to the importance of musical teaching for students with disabilities in a strictly technical institution. As result, we can observe some changes in the students behavior, as long as they give a new meaning to the austerity promoted by technical training in favor of a musical activity during their training processes. As conclusion, we note the importance of offering artistical activities in a strictly technical institution, in order to contribute to a holistic and humanized approach.
