Abstract

The transition between garment modeling software, such as Audaces Moldes and Lectra Modaris, represents a significant challenge for professionals in the fashion industry. This study aims to analyze the differences in modeling tools between these two systems and their impact on patternmakers’ adaptation. The research was structured into four phases, according to the Double Diamond methodology: discover, define, develop, and deliver. In the discovery phase, the main challenges faced by users were identified through qualitative and quantitative research. The definition phase involved a synchronic analysis of the tools, while the development phase resulted in the creation of a "FROM-TO" guide comparing equivalent functionalities between the software. In the delivery phase, the focus was on preparing the guide for release and planning training sessions. The results revealed significant gaps in customization and usability, and user feedback was crucial in building the guide. It is hoped that this study will contribute to a better understanding of patternmakers' needs and provide a practical resource to facilitate the transition between software, promoting a more efficient and effective adaptation to the new work environment.
