Abstract

This study aimed to observe the role of verbal and non-verbal language as a mediator in the process of acquiring knowledge through intersemiotic translation. For the work, we used the exploratory methodology through a case study whose objective was observation, data analysis, and bibliographical support of the use of imagery resources by/for a deaf student. The present work is justified by the need to analyze in practice how visual language and multisensory activities can establish diverse connections and experiences, and how they can gradually add to learning. Furthermore, the experience proved to be effective, generating satisfactory results in achieving the previously proposed objectives, stimulating, in addition to the results, an effective improvement in verbal communication, mutual collaboration and fun.
