Abstract

This work aims to describe the experience of monitoring environmental data that influence the growth and productivity of vegetables grown at the Machado Campus of the Federal Institute of Southern Minas Gerais with the aid of the embedded electronics system called Farmbeats, which consists of a dedicated hardware and sensors for measurement and acquisition of temperature and humidity data of air and soil and sunlight. Data collection and analysis followed technical procedures of precision agriculture aimed at fruit crop analysis. Measurements were taken and reports and graphs were generated from the acquired data. A machine learning model was built with the help of the Lobe.ai tool with the aim of predicting nutrient deficiencies in plants and identifying pests in planting areas. The experience aims to show that this technology can be used by any professional in the field of agriculture.
