A LOGÍSTICA DA GESTÃO DE ESTOQUE DE UMA EMPRESA DE MATERIAIS ELÉTRICOS DO INTERIOR DE MINAS GERAIS

Abstract

Inventory management aims to optimize the balance between the cost of keeping stock and the availability of items, in order to guarantee a continuous and efficient flow of materials and products. This article analyzes the inventory management logistics of a company in the retail sector, aiming to identify difficulties, flaws and successes in how this inventory management is carried out. The company chosen was a small electrical materials store located in São João Evangelista, a small town in the countryside of Minas Gerais. The analysis of a company's inventory management is extremely important, because through it it is possible to identify which steps can be improved, from operational efficiency, cost reduction and in the relationship with suppliers. For this analysis, a case study was carried out, which involved interviews with those responsible for managing the stock, on-site observations and analysis of logistical documents. This interview was carried out in a semi-structured manner, and adopted a qualitative approach, allowing flexible questions to be asked, in order to explore their perceptions, experiences and practices in inventory management at the electrical materials company in Minas Gerais. This research generated several analyzes related to inventory management. Firstly, the company has simple definitions to evaluate the levels of control and replacement of stock and it faces various problems, such as lack of replacement of stock, stopped products, divergence between the stock registered in the system and the real one, delivery time of the suppliers and transport logistics. It is expected that the insights obtained from the analysis of the case study results will contribute to the development of more efficient logistics solutions for small businesses, mainly those located in cities in the countryside, improving inventory management and reducing operating costs.
